Seeking a Consultant with Health Research, Evaluation, and Consulting Expertise

McKinley Research Group seeks an individual who is passionate about solving problems and improving the health and well-being of Alaskans and who brings expertise in public health, healthcare, and social service issues to our team. This position is ideally located in Anchorage.

The applicant must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, be detail-oriented and work effectively in collaboration with others. McKinley Research Group employees are versatile self-starters interested in working in teams on projects across industries and sectors regardless of their primary area of expertise. Our work requires objectivity, curiosity, flexibility, and tenacity.

Our health and social services-related projects include community health needs assessments, health and social services program and system evaluations, economic and socioeconomic impact analyses, and contributions to health policy and planning. Our clients include communities, non-profit organizations, government agencies, public and private healthcare providers, private industry, and others concerned with the well-being of Alaskans. Frequent client and industry contact is anticipated through projects and industry outreach.

DESIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Expertise in one or more facets of Alaska’s health and social service systems.
  • A high degree of self-discipline, motivation, time management, and personal responsibility.
  • Advanced project management skills with experience leading a team and managing projects.
  • The ability to work in small groups and to pivot readily between projects.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience collecting, analyzing, and interpreting qualitative and quantitative data.
  • An extensive professional network.
  • Professional experience that contributes to McKinley Research Group’s work and mission.
  • Master’s degree in a health-related field (e.g., public health, healthcare administration, health policy, public administration) or at least five years of equivalent work experience.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

Compensation is contingent on professional experience and skills.

Full-time employees are eligible for McKinley Research Group benefits including:

  • Four weeks of personal leave, graduating to 5 weeks with increased years of service.
  • Group Health Plan, with McKinley Research Group contributing up to 75 percent of plan cost for employees, spouse, and dependents.
  • 401(k) retirement plan with 5% employer match.
  • Nine paid holidays, two half-day holidays, and one paid volunteer service day.

Seeking a Consultant/Senior Consultant with Project and Business Development Expertise

McKinley Research Group is seeking an individual who is passionate about economic development in Alaska communities and who brings expertise in business development and project analysis to our team.

A successful applicant will have the intellectual curiosity and research skills to distill complex information into actionable insights tailored to client needs. The consultant or senior consultant will be a leader in the firm in managing and authoring feasibility studies, infrastructure analyses, market assessments, and other related projects. The successful applicant will build on McKinley Research Groups’ network of data sources and contacts, while contributing their own expertise in one or more of Alaska’s economic sectors.
