Stephanie joined McDowell Group as an economist in 2015, adding depth to the firm’s seafood and fisheries expertise. She recently completed her Masters of Science in Resource and Applied Economics from the University of Alaska Fairbanks. Her master’s thesis involved an economic analysis of the Alaska sablefish fishery, including the impacts of the IFQ system on sablefish ex-vessel prices and revenues.
Stephanie’s professional interests in sustainably developing Alaska’s marine resources coincides with her longtime research interests in international trade and economics. Hailing from the Midwest originally, she graduated from Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin with a bachelor’s degree in International Business and Economics and worked at the World Trade Center Wisconsin in international market analysis.
Stephanie originally moved to Sitka, Alaska as a Jesuit Volunteer in 2010 and fell in love with Southeast Alaska. In her free time, she loves to be outdoors either in the mountains or on the water, to travel within Alaska and abroad, and to play hockey.
